dX Databases - IMF and other International

IMF International Financial Statistics

IMF International Financial Statistics provides all time series from the International Monetary Fund's International Financial Statistics database.

The database contains over 43,000 series for over 180 countries and includes all series published in the country pages and world and area tables of the IMF International Financial Statistics publications (monthly and Yearbook) but with more extensive time coverage.

IMF International Financial Statistics is organized into two databases, the first containing the series at the highest available frequency (monthly, quarterly or annual) and the second containing all annual series.

The database is updated monthly.

Note: the IFS database is made available as a dXtime remote database, accessed via the Internet.

World Bank World Tables

World Bank World Tables provides all time series from the Economic Time Series Tables of the World Bank.

Containing about 26,000 time series beginning as early as the 1960's for over 200 countries, the World Tables database provides the core socio-economic indicators and country estimates used by The World Bank in the analysis of economic and social trends in developing countries. Included are series for national accounts, prices and money, manufacturing, the government budget, foreign trade, the balance of payments and external debt, together with a range of demographic and social indicators.

The database is released annually.

Penn World Table

The Penn World Table was developed by Robert Summers and Alan Heston (and others) to facilitate consistent national accounts comparisons across countries as well as over time.

The latest version 6.3 of the Penn World Table contains 32 variables for 189 countries (with two versions for China). The approximately 5,500 annual time series begin as early as 1950 and end generally in 2007.

The Penn World Table is updated at irregular intervals. PWT 6.3 was released in 2009.
